2009 Mile High Massacre

The 2009 Mile High Massacre was to be a very competitive tournament.  Lakeshore and Denver would continue their rivalry.  The guys from San Diego split their team, and while they were without Reilly Batt they brought in the always dangerous Seth McBride.  The up and coming Minnesota team was there and St. Louis rounded out the field.

Friday started with Lakeshore taking care of business sending a statement, beating  Minnesota by 9.  Later Denver would be tested in a close game against the Crown 1 team.  Denver pulled away late but it was a hard fought victory.

After Saturday went as most thought it would, people were ready for the big game,  Lakeshore (4-0) against Denver (4–0).  The game wouldn’t disappoint.  The packed gym saw a hard hitting, back and forth game.  After being down 2 goals in the third the Harlequins fought back forcing a few turnovers and swinging the momentum their way.   In the end Denver took the game in the last few minutes getting a 44-47 win and winning the 2009 Mile High Massacre.
